I have a thing for graffiti...

I love graffiti.  I've always been stopped in my tracks by it but am just recently learning more about street art thanks to Juxtapoz and a vast amount of time on the internet.  I just watched Banksy's "Exit Through the Gift Shop".  Twice.  I need to conversate with someone about it.  Is this for real?

Somewhere there are some pix that Dad took of me and Janey when I was about 16 by a beautifully tagged wall we found in the city.  I was wearing an old army jacket that I'd covered with pins and sparkles (very 80s) and had freakin horrid hair (very VERY 80s).  You remember that look doncha?  I'd love to take another, more slightly educated look at that wall now.  I'll try to dig those up for a laugh.

These two pix were taken on one of my favorite walks.  Specifically under the freeway bridge along the way to Trestles.  There is tons and tons more graffiti there but I have to figure out how to get to it. Stay tuned...

Yeah, I don't make resolutions.  It's just not my style.  And if you ask my friends (Janene!), I rarely do anything anyone tells me to do till I'm good and ready.  I'm stubborn as hell.  In fact, the running joke is to tell me to do the opposite of what you really want me to do.  So, yeah...that's why I'm gonna try to do this blog.  It has been mentioned to me on more than one occasion but, until now,  I wasn't good and ready.  I guess 2011's gonna be the year of good and ready!  My idea is a post a week.  Hey, I can do anything for a year, right?  Dunno that all the posts will be pictures but it's more than likely.  And since we are already into the 2nd week of January, here's 2 pix for ya.  Stay tuned, hold me to my word (it's not a resolution!)  and lemme know your thoughts.
